“In Central Florida, we have the National Entrepreneurship Center."
Note: Lourdes Mola says the National Entrepreneurship Center houses more than 20 resource incubators.

MARIANA MORALES, LICENSED MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST – COO & CO-FOUNDER OF Opción YO
IS MENTAL HEALTH HELP STILL CONSIDERED TABOO FOR LATINOS?
“It’s changing.”
“There’s a lot of noise that’s been made outside in the world about the importance of this. And it’s working. And people are realizing how important this is in their life. And when they come, most of the time… we are told… they are going to be shy. Or people will be afraid. No. And people really, really, really enjoy it.”
“They really have such a wonderful experience when they talk about how to become the best [version] of themselves by working with someone.”

PABLO PRAHL – CEO & FOUNDER OF A& G MARKETING GROUP POWERED BY PRO FORMA
WHY YOU SHOULD NOT ASSUME THAT THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU CAN FIND GOOD IDEAS IS THE U.S.:
“As Latinos, we tend to believe what we are doing there [in Latin American countries] is not right, and everything is better here. And, no, there [are] a lot of things… going on in our [native] countries that, if we can do… here, it will be much better.”
EXAMPLES: Initiatives, selling methods and other ways of doing business

JENNIFER HERRERA-PRAHL – PRESIDENT OF A& G MARKETING GROUP POWERED BY PRO FORMA
WHY YOU NEED TO BE OPEN-MINDED ABOUT TURNING TO INDUSTRY RESOURCES FREQUENTLY:
Herrera-Prahl says you have different challenges at different stages of entrepreneurship. So don’t dismiss a group just because you don’t think they can be of value to you today. It shouldn’t be a one-time thing.
“Later, in a few years, I may need them… Be open to all the resources that you have. And be able to go back to them when you need them.”

LEONARDO (LEO) NEIRA – FOUNDER & GENERAL MANAGER OF MIAMI CONVERTIBLES
BEST UNTAPPED RESOURCE FOR SMALL BUSINESS ADVICE:
“I’m constantly reading forums on Reddit.”
PRACTICAL EXAMPLE: “I got denied by four banks for the PPP (Paycheck Protection Program)… And, then, on Reddit, someone posted, 'Hey, [a] small bank in Texas is lending to small [business owners].'”
Neira says that’s how he was able to get approved for a PPP loan.

EVELYN SUERO, ESQ. – FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL ATTORNEY OF SUERO LAW, PLLC
BIGGEST FACTOR THAT SEPARATES THOSE WHO DON'T SUCCEED IN BUSINESS FROM THOSE WHO DO:
“They cut corners. People cut a lot of corners. And I get it. You want to start a business and money’s tight. I get it. I’ve been there. But you can’t.”
“It’s like raising a baby and saying, 'I want to buy the cheapest, generic formula for them to drink.' No, you’re going to buy the best because you want that baby to grow strong.”
Suero says, if you do cut corners, be prepared for what could go wrong. “You’re going to have a flimsy business that’s going to topple at the first sign of trouble.”
PRACTICAL EXAMPLE: Suero says people, “download contracts from the internet not knowing that that’s going to be very damaging…”
She says half of her clients are people whose mistakes she has to fix.

ANDRIANA OLIVA – FOUNDER & PRESIDENT OF theAOinsight
HER GO-TO RESOURCE FOR ALL KINDS OF HELP IN BUSINESS:
“One of my best resources is probably the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, to be honest. And not so much because of the value… [of] the things that they offer, but because of the value in the people that are there.”
“I’ve made all sorts of friends from all types of industries, all walks of life. You know, people that you can text and ask a question.”
Oliva turns to them for questions, such as the following:
“Where do I get this resource?”
“Hey, do you know how to do this?”
“Hey, do you have this contact?”

LUZ GAONA – FOUNDER & SOUTHSHORE BILINGUAL THERAPY, INC.
AUTHOR & BOOK SHE’D RECOMMEND:
“Brené Brown. Oh, I love them all, but the most recent one that I’m reading – “Atlas of the Heart” - it's amazing. All of them are good. And the beautiful thing is, you don’t have to buy a book. You can just get it from the library… That’s where I used to go to escape as a child. I’d get dropped off at the library. And I just wanted to live a life that wasn’t mine. And escaping a book was my therapy as a kid.”
