CARLOS TAMAJON, OWNER & FOUNDER OF THE CRAFTY GAMER
BEST TOOLS FOR GETTING ORGANIZED & KEEPING YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE:
“I love project management tools. So I actually use a program called ClickUp. ClickUp is amazing. It’s kind of like a Monday or Wrike or something else like that. All those programs are fantastic. A lot of them have free tiers, and you can just join with an app on your phone. It’ll set up calendar reminders. You can build CRMs for it, depending what kind of business you’re building. They’re very versatile tools…”

ON HOW YOU SHOULD VIEW MEETINGS THAT DIDN’T TURN INTO SALES DIFFERENTLY:
“Let me just reframe this… It’s like a breakup. It’s not me; it’s you. And just understand that, you know, it might not… be the right time. And, now, I look at [each] as [a] discovery meeting. I’ve gotten more confident.”

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF TURNING AROUND NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES:

WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT SAY “NO” TO:

JORGE VALLADARES, FOUNDER OF ARIA COUNSELING, TENURED PSYCHOLOGY PROFESSOR AND REGISTERED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR INTERN
ON THE BOOK WITH SURPRISING LESSONS:
Jorge Valladares says the biography about a former U.S. president, aptly titled “John Adams,” by David McCullough is a favorite of his for its many unexpected lessons.
Valladares explains, “My daughter is studying music right now. My youngest daughter is a singer. And I’ve always wanted her to do that. I always drew a lot of criticism from people who believed I should guide my children toward practical jobs… I don’t want that for my kids.”
Valladares points to the following quote from “John Adams” to explain his reasoning: “I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study paintings, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain.”
